Dr. Muhammad Hamza Khan
Dr. Muhammad Hamza Khan is a Consultant Ophthalmologist with expertise in Cornea Transplant , Glaucoma,Cataract and Anterior segment surgery.
He did a Cornea and Anterior Segment Fellowship from University Hospital Southampton and Colchester Hospital University NHS Foundation Trust, each which was 2 years of period where he had learnt modern techniques of cornea transplantation ,Glaucoma surgeries and all types of cataract, corneal and refractive surgery.
Dr. Muhammad Hamza Khan completed his MBBS at Karachi, following which he completed his ophthalmology training from Aga Khan University Hospital, Karachi. He was awarded M.R.C.S (Ed) and F.R.C.S (Ed) and later F.R.C.S (Glasgow). Dr Hamza has also served at Consultant at King’s College Hospital London, and is also an active teaching Faculty member at Royal College of Ophthalmologists, London where he remains actively involved in the surgical training of ophthalmologists.
Dr. Muhammad Hamza Khan established DMEK Cornea Transplant ( partial thickness sutureless transplant) at University Hospital Southampton and became the first surgeon to perform DMEK surgery at Southampton and nearby areas. He is also an active DMEK trainer in the UK since 2018.
Dr. Muhammad Hamza Khan has lectured as Guest Speaker internationally and regularly participates and lectures at national and international meetings. He has also authored a number of research papers for journals in multiple countries and is a contributing reviewer for Eye, the academic journal of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists, and European Journal of Ophthalmology.
